Content description
A collection of Blaise Pascal's thoughts on religion and other subjects, in the article arrangement inherited from Port-Royal. It opens with the "Life of Blaise Pascal" by his sister Gilberte Périer and the "Conversation with M. de Sacy"; it then gathers the Pensées in twenty-five articles —from the critique of the atheists' indifference to the proofs of Jesus Christ and the wretchedness of man— and closes with minor works (The Geometrical Spirit, The Art of Persuasion, Discourse on the Passions of Love) and various letters. The Port-Royal additions are indicated in brackets.
